The first day was the traveling day then; the session began on the 22th. Throughout the day, it was made the revision about the work progress, the task which were assigned in the 4 partner meeting and also presented some questions and problems that came from the task development. One of the concerns was if the results from the research made were taken in consideration for the selection of the characters and institutions; nevertheless, all members agreed that the game is indeed a simplification of the reality and despite the aim of it is to represent sufficiently the reality of migration this theme is wide and complex. So playing two or three hours is not sufficed to incorporate all elements.
According to the discussion about the reality approach of the game, the next step in the meeting was to present and deliberate about the flow diagram of every institution which made more understandable how they work. In every presentation, many aspects were taking in consideration, such as, the station tasks and results, how many participants will work in every institution, if there will be money in the game and in which way the procedure in every station is close to the current situation. Through the presentation of the stations, one subject came into the discussion, the time; the main question was how time in the game is related to the “real life” time? In that point, the solar team showed their time proposal which they considered the best option, after have analyzed every aspect of the game and compared with the real procedure time respectively.
At that point of the meeting it was checked in which way the pedagogical goals which were established for the members over the last meetings would be achieved, having in mind that the basis structure of the game was already settled. Therefore, the list of the goals was projected and then one by one were inquired if it was and in which way was reflected in the game itself. At the end, some of them were not covered yet but it was defined that those would be reached in other part of the method, such as, the debriefing part or the preparation module.
The last part of the meeting was dedicated to set the target group and also the group size. With reference to the conclusions made about the characters and the stations, it was deliberated that the minimum of people required to play the game were 26 participants who will be distributed as follows, 18 playing as institutions officers and 8 migrant characters. On the other hand, before make the decision about the target group it was agreed that the game will have at least three different levels of complexity taking into account the procedures, requirements and time frame; as a result, the target group will vary from level to level. The concrete idea of the complexity is not finished yet however; the team decided that at least for the level with the lowest intricacy, the game will be suitable to play with people from 14 years old and over.
